What is the redmap project? This project invites Australians to share sightings of marine species that are 'uncommon' to their local seas. Redmap uses this citizen science data to map which Australian marine species may be extending their distribution in response to changes in the marine environment, such as ocean warming.

What is redmaps customer first? At Redmap we know that the Customer is first. It is not something that we put in our vision statement to make Customers feel good about themselves but something that is front of mind for every inpidual that works at Redmap, from the lab to the field.

How does redmap use citizen science data? Over time, Redmap will use this ‘citizen science’ data to map which Australian marine species may be extending their distribution range – a.k.a moving house - in response to changes in the marine environment, such as ocean warming. Redmap members use their knowledge of the seas to help monitor Australia’s vast coastline.
